On a cold October night in 2016, 22-year-old Emily Carter disappeared without a trace from the small town of Blackwood, Oregon. She was last seen walking home from work at around 11:30 PM. Security cameras captured her entering a narrow street, but strangely, none of them showed her coming out.
The police searched the entire town. Her phone was found on a bench near an abandoned train station, but there were no fingerprints except her own. After several months, the case went cold, and Emily became just another name on the list of missing people.
Ten years later, in October 2026, a local journalist named Daniel received an anonymous letter. Inside was a photograph of Emily standing in front of the same abandoned train station. On the back, someone had written:

“She never left. Look beneath the clock.”
Daniel went to the station that night. Beneath the old, broken clock, he discovered a small metal door hidden under the floorboards. Behind it was a staircase leading underground.
At the bottom, he found a room filled with photographs of missing people. And in the middle of the room sat a dusty laptop that was still running.
On its screen was a live security feed of Daniel standing in the room.
Suddenly, a message appeared:

“We’ve been waiting for you.”
He heard footsteps behind him and turned around.
A woman stood in the doorway. Her face was pale, her hair much longer than in the photographs, but he recognized her immediately.
It was Emily.
She looked exactly as she had ten years ago.
“Daniel,” she whispered, “you shouldn’t have come here.”
The laptop screen went black.
The next morning, Daniel was reported missing.
And on the wall of the abandoned station, someone had written a new name beneath Emily’s photograph.
Daniel Reed — Missing since October 16, 2026.
